Conceived in 2005 and birthed in 2006, Black Sheep Baby has been raised & nurtured by two great friends, Ingrid Soderberg & Jennie Cini. Our goal has always been to make tough, simple, stylish clothes (and more) for small people in a socially responsible way.
Ingrid lives in Minneapolis with husband (and BSB designer) Lane, their 4 year-old son (and BSB muse/model) Hayden, two big dogs and a cat. After a 12-year stint as assistant to screenwriter, Pat Proft, she is now "Nanny" to Baby Maelin (and her dog) along with several other random jobs/duties she has taken on.
Jennie lives in Brooklyn with her FDNY boyfriend, Donnie, and their two fluffy sister cats. She "Let the Dogs Out" during her time at S-Curve records, then moved on to work for one and now another HUGE corporation. She's supposed to have moved to Minneapolis by now, but New York is holding her hostage.
As a growing business, we have yet to muster the confidence we need to borrow a bunch of money from somebody to make BSB our "real" jobs, yet we keep marching forward, learning all the way. The launch of our new website is yet another beginning and we are so excited to finally have the tools we have always wanted!
